Repair and paint

I worked in this house for the first time in the summer of 2009.  At the time, it was the biggest task I had ever taken.  I did not know if my fledgling crew and I could handle it.  The task was to paint the common areas of the house and sand & paint all of the trim.

Following are photos of a room I have not yet painted.  It still has the color of the old nasty mucus colored trim.

The trim that we painted was not at all ordinary.  This crown molding was all over their 1st floor.  All of the door trim, doors, baseboards, and stairwell spindles through 3 floors was all the color as above. It's a shame that it was ever painted in the first place, but we made it beautiful.

This is the 3rd time they called me to do work in their house.  This time, we repaired some damage on the ceiling of one room:

Before
After (with an edge still wet at the time of the photo)

We also changed the color and made a few minor repairs of another room.  They simply wanted to go from blue to green.

We have plans to return again to paint their master bedroom that has some of that phlegm colored trim and lots of peeling paint.

After the wallpaper came down

The owners of this house removed the wallpaper from the walls and ceilings themselves, had an electrician run through the house, and had insulation blown in.  Then realized that they needed someone else to finish the work.  Here is what it looked like when we got there:

Living Room / Dining Room
Stairwell
Small Bedroom

Hallway with damaged plaster

Other side of hallway with an electrician's hole and a bad drywall patch

After 6 full days with a crew of 3 or 4 people (including me) everyday, we totally transformed this house.

Here is what the homeowner said:
Thanks so much for everything! We've been thrilled with the work from start to finish -- you and your team have been an absolute joy to work with (plus you have way better taste in music than any other contractors I've ever had in my house), and we're in love with the transformation. We keep saying "Wow... it's like we have a real house now!"

I have already started singing your praises to friends and coworkers, and I just might have a couple potential clients coming your way before too long. Certainly feel free to direct people to me if anyone ever wants a reference -- I have nothing but ultimate praise for the experience of working with you.

A New Day

I started this contracting business in January 2008 as a painting, handyman, and drywall/plaster repairing company.  I worked alone most days and struggled to find good help.  A year later, I had 2 people helping me regularly and brought in others as I needed.  Now, 4 years after I started, I am getting ready for a reboot.  I am developing a website, exploring some branding, and looking forward to growing.  Following will be a record of almost every job I do with before and after photos.
